As part of The Lansing Journal’s ongoing efforts to increase sports coverage at TF South, we have asked TFS coaches to provide us with information about their matches/games. The Lansing Journal will be posting these scores and summaries multiple times per week in a “TFS Sports round-up.”

LANSING, Ill. (September 10, 2021) — The scores for September 8-10:
September 8
TFS Golf
Opponent: Eisenhower High School
Score: TFS narrowly defeated Eisenhower in both varsity and JV action. (V: 219-225, JV: 238-239)
At Centennial Park Golf Course in Munster, TFS varsity was led by sophomore medalist Andrew Danehl (personal best 50), senior Davey Mosele (53), and juniors Ethan Modjeski and Nicholas Rincon (58 each). The JV squad was led by Junior Leilani Alba (58), senior Mitchell Bell (59), junior Matthew Bell (60), sophomore LaJoya Franklin (61) and junior Makhi Tompkins (61).
September 9
TF United Boys Soccer
TF North and South have a combined soccer team, called TF United.
Opponent: Evergreen Park High School
Score: TF United beat Evergreen Park Thursday for the team’s third win of the season.
Both Lexani Gaines Ulisses Garcia collected one goal and one assist during the game. Jonathon Hernandez scored the third goal of the shutout. Keeper Jesus Puerta tallied up five saves during the contest.
TFS Girls Tennis
Opponent: Reavis High School
Score: TFS fell to Reavis 4-1.
Doubles team Vanessa Sanchez and Aliza Olivaria notched the only win for TFS Thursday. QiMora Burts suffered her first loss of the season during the match.
TFS Girls Volleyball
Opponent: Reavis High School
Score: TFS was defeated by Reavis in two sets (25-16, 25-18)
Abby Grafenauer impressed on Thursday with 15 assists, four digs, two solo blocks, and two aces. Mya Durr collected seven digs and Kendall Jackson gathered five kills.
September 10
TFS Football
Opponent: Bremen High School
Score: TFS beats Bremen 35-7.
