CRESTWOOD, Ill. (September 8, 2021) – The 25th annual Elim Dutch Festival is set to occur on Saturday, September 25. The free event will run from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the grounds of Elim Christian Services at 13020 S Central Avenue in Crestwood.

Elim’s Dutch Village will be on display as well as a farmer’s market. Entertainment throughout the day will be provided by Fiddle Fire, Mainstreet Dueling Pianos, and other acts, including Dutch wooden shoe dancers.

A reptile show, petting zoo, pony rides, and train rides will be ticketed events for kids at the festival.

The day’s many paid food offerings will kick off with a “pannenkoek” pancake breakfast, followed by other Dutch-inspired food throughout the day including banket (pastries with almond filling), hutspot (beef and potatoes), and oliebollen (cinnamon donut holes). Pizza, hamburgers, bratwurst, and hot dogs will also be available.

Parking and a shuttle bus service at the event are free.

“We have always been supporters of Elim, but Elim became even more important to us after the birth of our daughter, who has Down Syndrome. She was a student at Elim for 19 years and now every day we see the results of Elim education and training,” said Dutch Fest Committee Member Judy Van Til “I have been volunteering at Elim since 1982 and presently will complete 25 years on the Dutch Festival committee. The Dutch Festival is entirely a volunteer organization with no one receiving any compensation. All proceeds from the festival are used for the benefit of the children at Elim.”

Dutch Festival is Elim’s largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds impacting hundreds of children and adults with disabilities that Elim serves each day. Elim’s mission is to equip children and adults with disabilities to pursue their God-given potential by offering person-centered educational, vocational, and therapeutic services and by partnering with their communities.
