Mary Kathleen NeroMary Kathleen Nero, nee Kuczka, age 85, late of Dyer, IN, passed away peacefully Monday, August 16, 2021. Loving wife of the late Paul D. Nero. Devoted mother of Michael (Carrie) Nero and Kimberly (Scott) Mowery. Cherished grandmother of Nichole (Ryan) Karver, Michele (Eric) Kaluf, Kristel (Andrew) Rey-Lelito, and Kara Rey; great-grandmother of Meliah, Mackenzie, Autumn, and Alexander Karver, Jordan, Nicholas, and Brooklyn Kaluf. Dearest sister of Kenneth (Christine) Kuczka, the late Martha (Eugene) Stefankiewicz, and late Bernard (Judy) Kuczka. Preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Kuczka.

Mary Kathleen was a graduate of Tolleston High School, class of 1953. She was married at Sacred Heart Church on August 31, 1957, where she was a member of the Rosary Sadality. She loved to ballroom dance, polka, jitterbug, play pinochle, and also enjoyed her bunco club.

Mary Kathleen worked at U.S. Steel where she was a sorority sister of Beta Sigma Phi. Mary Kathleen retired from Montgomery Ward customer pick-up. She later joined The Golden Times. Anyone that knew Mary Kathleen said she was a beautiful and kind person both inside and out. They were touched by her selflessness and happy demeanor. She had a way to make you smile.

Mary Kathleen loved her family unconditionally and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She also adored her precious dog, Bella. Mary Kathleen loved her faith, loved life and lived it to the fullest. God called her home peacefully, ending her pain and suffering. She will be forever and dearly missed.
