HAMMOND, Ind. (August 5, 2021) — The NAACP Hammond, Indiana, Branch will host its 2021 Freedom Fund Luncheon on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12 – 3 p.m. at the Dynasty Banquet Hall in Hammond.

The annual event is the most important fundraiser of the year for Hammond NAACP, and will feature guest speaker Roland Parrish — the owner, president, and CEO of Parrish McDonald’s Restaurants. Musician A.C. Williams will showcase a tribute to some of Motown’s greatest music. Comedian Eunice Jarrett will also perform.

The luncheon will honor outstanding community members and leaders, including a special award that will be presented to the Ophelia Steen Center in Hammond.

Tickets to the event are $50. Individuals and companies can also help a youth by becoming a Scholarship Sponsor.

“Of course, we are happy to have the chance to see one another in person again,” said Hammond NAACP President Homer Cobb. “We are all about community building, and that is best done face to face, as long as all rules and regulations are followed to ensure safety.”

For more information about the luncheon, including how to participate virtually, visit https://naacphammondin.org or contact Reverend Homer Cobb at 219-670-0883 or [email protected].
