LARC golf outing to benefit individuals with special needs

Information provided by LARC

LANSING, Ill. (July 13, 2021) Lansing, IL and Crown Point, IN LARC, a not-for-profit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its Annual Golf Outing on Friday, August 13, at Youche Country Club in Crown Point.

The event, titled “LARC on the Links,” features 18 holes of golf, lunch, games, contests, and complimentary select refreshments on the course. A recognition dinner following the scramble is also included. This year’s event features over $30,000 in hole-in-one prizes. Golf-dinner packages are $165 per person. Dinner-only guests are $60 per person.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m.

LARC is seeking golfers, sponsorships, as well as in-kind donations for their raffle. Sponsorship opportunities range in price from $165 to $3,500. Smaller sponsorship packages include hole signage, and larger packages include complimentary foursomes and additional dinner guests. In-kind donations, such as gift cards and gift certificates from area restaurants and businesses, will help to provide additional raffle revenue at the event.

All proceeds will support more than 100 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in programs that provide job training and employment, daily life skills enrichment, senior services, 24-hour residential services, and special recreation.

“LARC’s special events fundraising revenue has been on the decline due to the pandemic. Despite the safely coordinated protocols implemented at last year’s event, many of our regular golfers did not feel comfortable participating,” said Executive Director Ernie Gonzalez. He added, “As local and national conditions have been showing signs of reopening to a new normal, we are excited to host this event again, and we’re hoping to see many new and familiar faces!”

Sponsorships, golf, and dinner reservations should be received by Monday, August 2. For more information, to register, or to become a sponsor, contact the development office at 708-474-1540 or visit www.larclansing.com.
