Some I-94 ramps to close at Torrence and other roads starting June 4 — check and plan ahead

Information provided by the Village of Lansing

LANSING, Ill. (June 2, 2021) – Starting Friday night, June 4, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will begin work on the eastbound I-94 expressway and will close the following ramps late at night on June 4 around 11 p.m.:

  • Eastbound Torrence Avenue on-ramp
  • Eastbound Calumet Avenue off-ramps and on-ramps
  • Eastbound Indianapolis Boulevard off-ramps

The closures are due to work being done on the eastbound right hand lanes and will be operating 24/7. This project is expected to last 21 days. The detour route (for trucking purposes) will be westbound I-94 to 394 South to Route 30 North to Indianapolis Boulevard.

The next phase of the project will begin after July 4 and will target the westbound lanes. No Torrence Avenue closures will occur during this phase. That phase is also expected to last three weeks.
