The district’s new Cosmetology/Barber school will be using curriculum and resources purchased from Milady. The $7,934 expense will be paid from the Career and Technical Education Improvement Grant.

Career Development Department launched

District 215 is strengthening its career development and technical course offerings with creation of the Career Development Department. The new department better equips District 215 educators to help students become successful and prepared for employment or education beyond graduation.

Benefits include additional dual enrollment courses, certification training, community partnerships, and opportunities for earning an Associate of Arts degree while in high school.

The district currently has programs for building and construction, auto mechanics, collision repair, business, childcare, culinary arts, engineering, and TV production.

The International Brotherhood of Electric Workers NECA Technical Institute (IN-TECH) has formed a partnership with the district to add electrical training to its Career & Technical Education offerings. IN-TECH will provide an instructor for a new two-year program to be offered to students.

District 215 offices are located at 18601 Torrence Avenue, Lansing, IL.
