Lansing Police request info in 177th Street homicide

LANSING, Ill. (May 25, 2021) – The Lansing Police Department responded to a call in the 2100 block of 177th Street Tuesday at 1:08 a.m. after multiple gunshots were reported.

At the scene, LPD identified a 24-year-old African American male who had multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced deceased on site, according to a department press release.

The LPD has said the incident “does not appear to be a random event” and the department is working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators on the investigation.

The LPD is asking anyone with information to contact the Lansing Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 708-895-7150.

The Lansing Police Department is located at 2710 170th Street.
