Under 1,000 new Illinois cases today

LANSING, Ill. (May 17, 2021) – This post includes data for the village of Lansing and data visuals for the states of Illinois and Indiana.


The South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association has created a COVID dashboard aggregating data from villages throughout the south suburbs. Highlights from Lansing are listed below:

  • Cumulative total of COVID-19 cases: 3,439 (Previous reported total: 3,436)
  • Cumulative total of COVID-19 deaths: 20 (Previous day’s total: 20)
  • Seven-day positivity rate: 3.13% (reported May 14, 2021)

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today reported 946 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including six additional deaths.

A total of 10,407,841 vaccines have been administered in Illinois as of last midnight. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 61,275 doses. Yesterday, 32,253 doses were reported administered in Illinois. More than 64% of individuals 18 years and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Illinois.
