The love of our lives Jose Benjamin Lopez, 41 of Lansing, Illinois, passed away, March 4, 2021.

Jose was born on March 31, 1979 in Mexico, moved to Chicago when he was 6 years old, moved to Calumet City in 1995, moved to Lansing, Illinois, with his lovely wife and children in 2012. He was a perfect employee and friend for Done-Rite Recovery Services, INC. He was also a long-time member of Jesus, Shepherd of Souls, formerly known as St. Andrew’s the Apostle church. Everyone loved Jose, he was the kind of person who would stop what he needed to do, and help out others.

He was loving, kind, caring, devoted. He Loved to fish, work on cars, taught his children how to be strong, independent people. He loved the Fast and Furious movies, he had his own petting zoo at home – Cloe, Eli, and Izzy Bizzy his dogs; Lucifer his Savannah monitor; Zirmy his snake; Puff Jr. his bearded dragon; and many fishes. He loved going dancing with his wife, loved going on vacations with his family. He enjoyed camping, joking, and playing pranks on people. He was the type of person that would make you smile when you were down or just by his amazing smile, which was always a great characteristic of his—and his love for Batman. His biggest achievement in life was his family, whom he loved dearly and devotion will never be forgotten. He was also a big fan of charity and would feed the homeless. He also helped his children’s schools which are Coolidge and Memorial Jr High. We will miss him dearly always and forever love you Jose Benjamin Lopez.

He is survived by his lovely wife Veronica Lopez, his five children Arianna, Alejandra, Angel, Victoria, and Isaac.
