Vaccinations are being or will be provided by many local health departments across the state.

Limited supply so far for Phase 1B

The current phase of vaccination, Phase 1B, includes approximately 3.2 million people in Illinois. While the State is working to increase the number of vaccines administered daily, it is limited by the amount of vaccine available and allocated by the federal government. Vaccinations are available only by appointment at this time and residents are encouraged to check back frequently for open appointments. Until the supply is increased, there will be a great demand and the State asks for patience. Individuals should be signing up for an appointment to receive their second dose while they are getting their first vaccination.

For information on how to make an appointment to receive the vaccine, updates on the state’s plan and eligibility, and answers to frequently asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, go to coronavirus.illinois.gov. 1. It would be interesting to have a followup to your article of 1/25/21 (Cook County announces website to register for COVID Vaccine) about the actual number of inoculations actually completed since 1/25/21 at Walgreens at 18133 Torrence Ave in Lansing, and at Cottage Grove Health Center at 1645 Cottage Grove Ave in Ford Heights. Repeated attempts to actually secure an appointment through the website have been futile, no appointments at these locations seem to be available. Are COVID inoculations actually taking place at these Lansing and Ford Heights locations, particularly for 1B candidates?
