Doyne “Jerry” Watts, age 81, of Lynwood, IL closed his eyes on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, and found himself waking up in the arms of his Savior. Beloved husband for 59 years to Sharyn Watts, nee Kuipers. Loving father of the late Todd Watts, (Joey) Koltyn Watts, and Heidi (Michael) Rogan. Cherished grandfather of Noah and Riley. Dear brother of the late Sarah (late Barnett) Moore, late JoElla (J.W.) Clemons, Billie (Morris) Cooper, Webster (Ruby) Watts, Delores (late Bill) Kinsey, and the late infant Doris Watts. Kind uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Doyne Osmond and Audie Watts. Jerry was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Jerry was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Church in Lansing, IL. He worked as a drywall hanger for Superior Drywall and Saxon Drywall, and provided a cleaning service for Sandridge School of Chicago Heights and Trinity Lutheran School of Lansing.
Visitation Sunday, January 31, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. The service will be live streamed from the Smits Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SmitsFH. In honor of Jerry and his love of country music, please feel free to wear some comfortable western attire such as flannel shirts and Levi blue jeans. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
