LANSING, Ill. (January 19, 2021) – In light of Illinois’ recent announcement that regions throughout the state have moved to new tiers of COVID-19 mitigations, Lan-Oak Park District announced Monday that the Eisenhower Center will open with restrictions at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21.

As part of Region 10, Lansing is now in Tier 2 of the state’s COVID-19 resurgence mitigations. The Tier 2 mitigations state that fitness centers may be open with “lesser of 25 guests or 25% of overall room capacity both indoors & outdoors.”

The Lan-Oak Park District has also announced restrictions to keep its facility safe and healthy. The Eisenhower Center will be open weekdays 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. On weekends, the facility will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Face masks will be required at all times in the facility, even during workouts.

The Lan-Oak Park District also said locker rooms will be available only to pool users, and that members may use either the pool during their visit, or the fitness center, not both. The pool can only serve 8 members at a time while the fitness center can serve up to 20. The one-hour restriction that was previously in place has been lifted. Whirlpools, steam rooms, and the sauna are not yet available for use, the park district said.
