Virginia Gale “Ginny” Liptak (nee Sandstrom), age 80, late of Lansing, IL, formerly of Riverdale and Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at her bedside. She was born on January 29, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Donald and Dorothy (nee Schumaker) Sandstrom. Ginny was married to the love of her life, Julius G. Liptak Sr. with whom she recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Susan Liptak-Liston, Julius “Butch” Jr. (Nikki), Matthew (Pam Barba), and Deborah (Richard Furmanek); loving grandmother of Cassie and Brody Liston, AJ Liptak, Brandon Memenga, Thomas, Matthew and Emily Liptak, Zachary and Jacob Furmanek; Great grandmother of Thomas Liptak Jr.; sister of the late Ronald Sandstrom, Donna Kladis, David and Jack Sandstrom.
Former owner of Danny’s Pizza in Calumet Park, Illinois. Ginny will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family, her faith, and listening to Elvis Presley.
