September 23 is now last day to order homemade pies

LANSING, Ill. (September 16, 2020) – “We have extended the online order deadline to Wednesday, September 23rd,” said Katherine DeVries via email. DeVries is on the Apple Pie Day Committee at Lansing Christian School, and they are preparing for their 11th annual apple pie-selling event. The committee is implementing COVID guidelines to keep volunteers as well as customers safe.
The pie sale is a fundraiser for Lansing Christian School, a school that was founded by local families in 1907, and has been providing faith-based education in its current location since the 1930s. Current families as well as alumni are the largest block of customers, but anyone can order a pie from the school’s website—the 9-inch pies are homemade and then frozen so they can be re-baked and served warm any time during the next six months.
Each pie costs $12, and pick-up day is Thursday, October 8, between 1:00 and 6:00pm.
A limited number of pies will be available for sale the day of the event.
Lansing Christian School is located at 3660 Randolph Street in Lansing, Illinois. Pie buyers are instructed to enter from Maple Street on October 8 for drive-thru pick-up.
Orders for homemade apple pies can be placed online and paid for with credit card. The order deadline is September 23:
