The Illiana Cat Project brings fall festival experience online

Information provided by the Illiana Cat Project

LANSING, Ill. (September 10, 2020) – The Illiana Cat Project is a Lansing-based trap, neuter, return (TNR) initiative, run entirely by a small group of volunteers. All donations fund their efforts to trap, neuter, and re-home community cats.

As kitten season winds down, the Illiana Cat Project has focused their efforts on a new fundraising project—the Fall Fur Festival: an online vendor fair, aimed at providing a bit of familiarity to the upcoming fall season as well as exposure to local business and artisans.

The Fall Fur Festival is a vendor fair that will take place entirely online from October 9-16, 2020. Vendors will utilize a Facebook group to market their goods and services through posts and live video. Shoppers will peruse the Facebook group, just as they would stroll through an outdoor vendor fair, but the online format will allow for the safety of all participants. Prizes, games, and giveaways will also take place throughout the week.

“Vendors can sell their goods or offer deals to funnel shoppers to their personal website or business,” said Illiana Cat Project team member Maleesa Losnedahl. “We are envisioning a diverse lineup of vendors and while we may not be able to set up our booth on a fall day, we hope this online event can provide a touch of that fall fest experience.”

Lead humane trapper Megan Noort is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of community support over the summer: “We appreciate each and every supporter for the compassion they’ve put towards our mission to help community cats. And every dollar is important because many one dollar donations can add up really fast and these kittens and cats are able to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and get the vet care that they wouldn’t normally get.”

Fall Fur Fest vendor registration is open until September 30. To register, or for more information, visit www.illianacatproject.com. Shoppers can begin joining the Fall Fur Festival group on October 1.
