LANSING, Ill. (September 2, 2020) – The Lansing Journal partners with HiGeorge to gather and present COVID-19 data from a variety of sources each day. The graphs are “live,” so they are continually updated as new data is released from these sources. For that reason, the numbers within a graph might not match the number in the text of this post, depending on when the post is being viewed.

Lansing

The Cook County Department of Public Health updates their numbers Monday through Friday. Currently the current cumulative total of reported COVID-19 cases in Lansing is 703. The current cumulative total of COVID-19 deaths remains at 12.

Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 2,128 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including another 27 confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 238,643 cases, including 8,091 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 26–September 1 is 4.5%. As of last night, 1,596 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 347 patients were in the ICU and 142 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 32,751 specimens for a total of 4,119,873.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) today announced that 871 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and 13 new confirmed deaths are being reported.
