Technical difficulties

by Melanie Jongsma

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 17, 2020) – If you waited until afternoon to click on any of the links in Monday morning’s Daily News email, you likely landed on a “Hosting Server Read Timeout” page. That’s because The Lansing Journal website was down from about 1:30–7:30pm on Monday.

If you tried again after 7:30pm, you probably landed on an “Oops! That page can’t be found.” page. That’s because when GoDaddy restored access to our site, they apparently used a backup from five days ago, undoing everything we had posted on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday morning’s email contained links to stories that had been posted throughout the day on Sunday. Those stories are gone now, so the links no longer work.

This is frustrating for us, and we have spent ridiculous hours chatting, texting, calling, and emailing GoDaddy in the hope that they will be able to restore our missing content. So far, crickets.

Please accept our apologies for this disruption in service. There is so much news going on in our community right now, and we hate to be sidetracked by technical difficulties.
