LANSING, Ill. (July 26, 2020) – On July 26, 2020 at approximately 9:20am, the Lansing Police Department responded to the area of 184th and Violet for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located two subjects with gunshot wounds. The first victim was a 20-year-old female who was transported to Munster Franciscan Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The second victim was a 24-year-old male who was treated and transported to an area hospital where he is in stable condition. At this time, this does not appear to be a random event.
The Lansing Police Department is working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force with this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lansing Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 708-895-7150.
