Thanking the few

May 2020 supporters

LANSING, Ill. (June 2, 2020) – More than 22,000 people visit The Lansing Journal each month to read the local news we publish each day. In May, the most visited news items included:

Of those 22,000 visitors, approximately 70 give money in order to keep this newspaper in business. They see the work that goes into this kind of coverage, and they want to give back. Their gifts help cover the tedious costs of doing business (website hosting, email delivery, miscellaneous software tools) as well as providing a stipend for our hardworking journalists.

Because of the matter-of-fact generosity of 70 people, 22,000 can enjoy local news each morning, and celebrate local victories, and honor local heroes, and have a record of local life during a pandemic. That’s an incredible gift.

I mention it each month because I want to ensure that the broader reading community doesn’t take local news for granted. People in all 50 states visit this website and read The Lansing Journal. The news is available to all because a few are willing to give.

If you want to be among the few, we welcome your support!

If you aren’t able to give financially, or if you choose not to, we understand. But will you please join us in giving thanks for the people listed below?
