Obituary: Charlene Alvina Dobos

November 14, 1921 – April 27, 2020

Charlene Alvina Dobos, (nee Jett) age 98 of Lansing, Illinois, formerly of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2020.

Charlene is survived by her loving children, Susan Gail (Jay) Stratman, and James Gregory Dobos. Loving grandmother of Jason (Beth) Zeilstra, Jayme (Ben) Ealick, Jodie (Grant) Botma, Daniel Lee Stratman, JoyAnn (Brandon) Smith, Jordan Stratman, Colton Dobos, Justin Dobos and great grandmother of Kinder, Cora Zeilstra, Cambria, Parker, Ellenie Botma, Azariah, Adah Ealick, Avery, Boston, Harper Smith. Fond sister-in-law Edna Jett and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Charlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin Dobos, son; Steven Mark Dobos, daughter; Patricia Lynn Zeilstra; loving parents Pearl and Pauline (nee Mayfield), brothers; Norman Jett and Lloyd Jett.

Services and burial for Charlene will be private. Charlene will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana.

Charlene was a dedicated and loyal employee working at the Hammond Clinic for 25 years in the Medical Insurance Department. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Lansing since 1956, Charlene loved the Lord Jesus and had accepted him as her Lord and Savior as a young girl. She is now in his presence, in her heavenly home forever. She also was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She gave of herself to others her entire life. She was loved by many and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Charlene’s name to the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois.

  1. Char was a wonderful person. She was our neighbor when my children were young. She Al and Jimmy were always nice to my children. And to us. God Bless her❤️❤️❤️
