Graduation announcements now available through The Lansing Journal

Birthdays, anniversaries, obituaries, and other community announcements also welcome

LANSING, Ill. (May 6, 2020) – Though COVID-19 has forced people to observe careful distances, families, schools, and businesses are innovating new ways to make connections. The Lansing Journal understands the importance of milestone celebrations in a community. For people who would like to announce a graduation, special anniversary, new baby, or other significant event—the option is now available in this community newspaper.

File specifications

For those who prefer to provide their own artwork, dimensions and specifications for best results are provided below. For those who would prefer help designing an announcement, The Lansing Journal can offer that service as well. Simply use the form below to send us your information.

  • Announcement dimensions: 640 x 480px (horizontal layout) or 640 x 850px (vertical layout)
  • File format: PNG or JPG (though we can convert other formats as well)
  • Deadline: If you want your announcement to appear online by a specific date, please let us know when placing your order. If you’d like us to design your announcement, please give us a one-week lead time. Our turnaround is quick, but we have multiple clients, and the news schedule fluctuates as well, so the more notice you can give us, the better.

Reach

Community announcements will be included in our Daily News, which is emailed to more than 2,000 subscribers. They will also be shared to The Lansing Journal Facebook page, where followers will be able to like, tag, and share it with friends and family.

As a small business, The Lansing Journal relies on revenue from ads and announcements in order to keep reporting and distributing news. We are also aware of the current financial strains on much of our community. So we are currently offering Community Announcements at special “pandemic pricing”—pay whatever you can. Even if you are not able to pay anything right now, you may certainly submit an announcement. During these difficult times we still want to help our community celebrate.

  1. While this is a terrific vehicle to share accomplishments in general, we live in a different day and age. Case in point, I am taken aback by the new-baby post with so much detailed information; down to the minute. I pray that only those with the best of intentions read the Lansing Journal.

    Be careful out there.
