Crisis creates temporary job opportunities

ORLAND HILLS, Ill. (March 22, 2020) – “If you are aware of anyone who has been affected by the closing of stores, restaurants, or other businesses,” began an email from Arnie Skibinski of HOPE Employment Ministry, “and is in need of short-term employment, the following employers are hiring today.” HOPE Employment Ministry is a ministry of Saint Elizabeth Seton Church in Orland Hills, but the information is available to anyone who needs it.

Current opportunities include:

  • Jewel in Tinley Park (“Manager informed me that they could use 24 additional people today in all departments and shifts,” wrote Skibinski. “This probably is typical of all locations.”)
  • Amazon ($17/hour)
  • Walmart
  • Whole Foods
  • Trader Joe’s
  • 7-Eleven
  • ALDI
  • Costco (all positions and shifts)
  • Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre will be hiring for all positions in preparation for the concert season in the spring
