New 2 You Thrift Store—closed

The New 2 You Thrift Store at 18230 Torrence Avenue will be closed through the end of March. A post on their Facebook page says, “We believe it is critical to do our part to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19. At times like this, taking preventative measures are more important than ever. The health and safety of our customers and volunteers has been, and will continue to be our top priority. We will re-evaluate in 2 weeks to see where the situation is at.” People who purchased furniture that still needs to be picked up from the store can private message the New 2 You Facebook page. The store is NOT accepting donations at this time.

St. Baldrick’s event—postponed

Kelley’s Krew Cuts had organized a St. Baldrick’s fundraiser at JJ Kelley’s on March 21. “In light of recent events, we will obviously have to postpone,” wrote organizer Jennifer Polley in an email. Undeterred, she added, “This is a great opportunity for us to be able to raise more funds to help kids with cancer!!” and provided the link to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation page where people can make an online donation:
