Planting Possibilities announces second consecutive CARF accreditation

information provided by Planting Possibilities

HIGHLAND, Ind. (December 21, 2019) – Planting Possibilities has been accredited for a period of three years for its employment support and job development programs. The latest accreditation is the second consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to Planting Possibilities.

Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served.

By pursuing and achieving accreditation, Planting Possibilities has demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality and is committed to pursuing excellence.

This accreditation will extend through June 30, 2022. This achievement is an indication of Planting Possibilities’ dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the people they serve. Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of conformance to the standards.

“We appreciate CARF’s collaborative approach which includes follow-up contact with the surveyor if necessary. So far, both of our surveyors have been top notch quality,” says Mary Anne Neiner, president of Planting Possibilities.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Planting Possibilities is a nonprofit organization that has been providing employment, job skills training, and volunteer opportunities for adults with autism and developmental disabilities in Lake County, Indiana, since 2012.
