LANSING, Ill. (October 3, 2019) — Lansing Christian School is hosting it’s 10th Annual Apple Pie fundraiser today, October 3, from noon until 6 p.m.

All 1,100 apple pies are made on the morning of the sale. The process starts before sunrise, when a crew comes in to make the famous crumble topping. Another shift cores and peels the apples, and a third group assembles the pies.

This year, for the first time, the pies are offered on a first-come, first-served basis; there were no pre-orders. Each pie is sold for $12 (cash, check or credit card), and the sale is open to anyone who is interested.

Pies can be refrigerated if they are baked within two or three days, or they can be frozen for up to six months.

Lansing Christian School is located at 3660 Randolph St in Lansing, Illinois. Apple pie pickup is on the southeast corner or the school: from Ridge Road, take Maple Street north and turn left on Randolph.

Last year, LCS made 1,000 pies — and they sold out. (Photo provided)
