LANSING, Ill. (September 13, 2019) – In the fall of 2018 the Outreach Committee from New Hope Church decided to build and install a Little Free Library to serve surrounding neighbors and others in Lansing. Their goal was to be a source of quality reading material in an easy-to-access setting.
The motto of the Little Free Library organization is “Take a Book – Share a Book.” As with all Little Free Libraries, books stocked in New Hope’s Little Free Library are available free of charge. Readers are encouraged to take and read a book, then share the book with someone else or return it to the library. People may also place a good book of their own in the library for others to read and enjoy.

New Hope Church’s Little Free Library is located just outside the west door of the church building at 3642 Lake Street in Lansing. Their library joins at least two other Lansing Little Free Libraries:
- Near the east door of TF South High School
- Near the Clock Tower at Park Plaza on Ridge Road

More information about this nationwide book sharing program is available at littlefreelibrary.org. The website also features a map function allowing visitors to search any area for additional free libraries.
