Registration deadline August 24 for ride on Monday, September 2, 8:30am

HAMMOND, Ind. (August 15, 2019) – The 16th annual Active Living Faire at Wolf Lake will feature a bi-state Labor Day Bike Ride on September 2.
The free 20-mile ride begins at 8:30am with a sign-up at the Environmental Education Center, 2405 Calumet Avenue in Hammond, Indiana. The ride, which is sponsored by the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative (AWLI), will include frequent stops along the way. Participants will view all parts of the watershed while enjoying early autumn colors. Highlights include:
- Wolf Lake Pavilion & Memorial Park
- Amaizo Channel
- Eggers Grove
- William W. Powers State Recreation Area
- Wolf Lake Terminals
- Nike Missile
- Indian Creek
- Powderhorn Lake
- Calumet Container Site
- George Lake
Bike riders are required to wear helmets.

The Active Living Faire is organized to promote health and fitness for visitors to the Wolf Lake watershed. It is free to the public. AWLI is a not-for-profit organization and land trust seeking to protect and enhance the Wolf Lake watershed.
