LANSING, Ill. (July 18, 2019) – “We want to expand our offerings to a short list of quality wines and local beers,” Renae Fentress explained at the Village Board’s June 18 Committee of the Whole meeting, “along with small plate food options—charcuterie boards of cheese, meats, nuts, fruits, things like that.” Fentress believes the new options will be a fitting accompaniment to the entertainment offerings at Fox Pointe, as guests look for a light meal or refreshment pre- and post-concert.
“Troost has already managed to bring in some residents from neighboring towns,” she told the Board, “and I see offering these additional beer and wine options as a way to bring in even more people.”
Fentress assured the Board, “If permitted, it is my determination to handle this with responsibility and also with the conviction to not promote drunkenness, but to promote community gathering.”
Village Administrator Dan Podgorski affirmed, “This is exactly what we’re trying to build along Ridge Road—some more amenities and more upscale offerings, especially to complement what’s going on in Fox Pointe.”
At the July 16 Board meeting, Trustees voted unanimously to approve Troost’s liquor license. Fentress plans to serve beer and wine on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, as well as at special events such as Cruise Nights and Fox Pointe events.
Troost Coffee and Tea is located at 18155 Roy Street in Lansing, Illinois.
