LANSING, Ill. (June 8, 2019) – On Friday, June 7, the Lansing Public Library kicked off summer with its popular annual Block Party, hosted on its own beautiful and sprawling front lawn and extending onto Indiana Avenue. The evening event enjoyed perfect June temperatures and drew a steady flow of Lansing residents from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
With eleven years’ experience organizing the Block Party, Library Director Debbie Albrecht knows what will gather neighbors from all parts of Lansing together—
Tables set up by Lansing community businesses, social services, Village government, and sports and special interest groups provided information about what Lansing has to offers its residents.
The Lansing Public Library will host another big outdoor summer event on Friday–Saturday, August 9–10, at Lansing’s Fox Pointe venue—a 50th Anniversary Woodstock Celebration. The throwback event will feature 60s music and vendors reminiscent of the iconic 1969 Woodstock outdoor concert.
The Lansing Public Library is located at 2750 Indiana Avenue in Lansing, Illinois.
