LIVERPOOL, NY (May 2019) – The Lansing Journal was among the 1,300 entries judged by the Association of Free Community Papers (AFCP) for this year’s Best of the Best awards. Print publications from throughout 2018 were eligible, and The Lansing Journal submitted the July issue in the Best Front Page – Newsprint category, winning third place.

Entries in this category were judged on “overall creativity, appeal, typography, and professional appearance.”

AFCP is the largest association in the free paper industry, and the annual Best of the Best awards competition is open only to AFCP members. Hundreds of publications submit entries in more than 100 categories, in hopes of earning national recognition.

The 2019 awards were presented in a ceremony at AFCP’s spring conference, which took place at the end of April.
