LANSING, Ill. (April 4, 2019) – One of the details people might not be aware of during election season is: Every sign that goes up has to come down. In some cases, politicians might simply ask their supporters to dispose of the signs. In other cases, the candidates themselves go around and gather them, sometimes saving them for a future run.
The Village Voice Party had covered Lansing with 95 large signs and 275 small signs. On Wednesday morning, April 3, Village Voice Party supporters Brian Hardy and Pete Chmura (pictured above) were driving up and down Lansing streets removing the signs. Hardy estimated it would take a few hours to collect them all, and he noted that picking them up is a much faster process than installing them—particularly since the ground was frozen at the beginning of sign season.
