Funeral procession for Officer John Rivera anticipated to arrive in Lansing around 12:30pm

Traffic on Burnham Avenue will be affected

LANSING, Ill. (March 29, 2019) – John Rivera, the Chicago police officer who was killed in River North on Saturday, March 23, is being laid to rest today. His funeral procession will go through Lansing on its way from Chicago to a private interment.

The procession is anticipated to arrive in Lansing around 12:30pm, on Burnham Avenue.

Motorists are asked to be prepared for delays.

Rivera’s funeral services took place this morning at 9:15am at the Elmwood Chapel in Chicago, with mass following at 10:00am at Church of the Annunciata in Chicago.
