Restoration Ministries to host 25th annual Christmas Toy Store

Friday, December 14

information provided by Restoration Ministries

HARVEY, Ill. (December 3, 2018) – On December 14, Restoration Ministries will turn its gym into a Christmas Toy Store where more than 200 families will shop for Christmas gifts for their children and grandchildren. Parents and grandparents who might otherwise struggle to give their children Christmas presents will be able to purchase brand new toys. The toys, valued at $5.00–50.00, will be priced between $1.00 and $5.00.

Restoration Ministries started the Christmas Toy Store in 1993 to fulfill its mission of giving a hand-up rather than a handout. At the Toy Store, parents can shop from a wide range of popular toys and select the exact toys that their children have on their wish lists. The Toy Store is for families who participate in Restoration Ministries’ food pantry and youth programs.

Donations of new toys are needed. Please drop off toys by December 11 at Restoration Ministries’ headquarters—253 E. 159th Street, Harvey, Illinois, or at any Providence Bank & Trust Branch in the south suburbs and northwest Indiana. To learn more about the Toy Store and how you can help, please call Cindi at Restoration Ministries at 708-333-3370.

The Christmas Toy Store is just one of the 20 programs that Restoration Ministries offers to the residents of Harvey and the surrounding south suburbs. Founded in 1988, Restoration Ministries serves more than 4,000 people annually. Its mission is to restore hope to people and bring lasting change to the community.
