“Wear your seatbelts,” is Firefighter Keith Zigterman’s summary
by Melanie Jongsma
LANSING, Ill. (November 22, 2018) – An accident involving two cars and two drivers looked much worse than it really was. In spite of one car rolling and flipping, both drivers sustained only cuts and bruises.
Firefighter Keith Zigterman happened to be a witness to the accident, which happened at Torrence and 186th Thanksgiving morning. He surmised that one or both drivers were in a hurry to celebrate the holiday, and one car hit the other at just the right angle to flip and roll it.
Because the woman in the flipped car did not suffer severe injuries, the Lansing Fire Department took their time extricating her from the vehicle. She was placed in a waiting ambulance shortly before noon.
“If she hadn’t been wearing her seatbelt, she wouldn’t have made it,” said Zigterman. “Wear your seatbelts. And don’t rush—it’s not worth it.”
In reference to your comment as to the fact that one or maybe both drivers were in a hurry for the Holiday. Well the woman in this rolled over vehicle was NOT in a hurry and was the innocent victim in this accident. The other driver should count her blessings that she’s not behind bars due to a death.
