Lansing police respond to shooting incident

LANSING, Ill. (November 20, 2018) – On November 20, 2018, at approximately 4:12am, the Lansing Police Department responded to the area of Thornton-Lansing Road and Chappel Avenue for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located two male subjects lying in the street with gunshot wounds. The first victim was a 20-year-old male who was pronounced deceased on scene. The second victim was a 19-year-old male who was treated and transported to Munster Community Hospital, and then later to University of Chicago, where he is in critical condition.

The Lansing Police Department is working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force with this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lansing Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 708-895-7150.
