Lansing Criminal Investigations Division accepting information from public
information provided by the Lansing Police Department
LANSING, Ill. (July 22, 2018) – At approximately 12:10am this morning, the Lansing Police Department was notified by St. James Franciscan Hospital of a patient with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at the hospital, officers learned that a female subject had been brought to the Emergency Room and suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Detectives from the Lansing Police Department learned that the female subject was involved in an altercation in the parking lot of LA Fitness (17365 Torrence Avenue), which closes at 8:00pm on Saturdays. The victim’s friend transported her to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Lansing Police Department is working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force with this investigation. At this time, this does not appear to be a random act.
