LANSING, Ill. (July 18, 2018) – During last night’s Village Board meeting and the Committee of the Whole meeting, Trustees Brian Hardy and Jerry Zeldenrust and Mayor Patty Eidam mentioned two new businesses who have found creative ways to get involved in the Lansing business community and public events.

Trustee Hardy mentioned The Party Chasers, owned by Trelane Grayson, who brought red, white, and blue balloons to help welcome two Lansing veterans home from their Honor Flight experience on July 11. “She brought out, like, I don’t know, 200 balloons,” said Hardy. “It was really, really touching. Hats off to her.”

Mayor Eidam also relayed that Party Chasers found a unique way to participate in the July 14 Cruise Night. She delivered custom balloon displays to three local businesses to help enhance their special events. Gayety’s was hosting Mayor Eidam and State Representative Marcus Evans at an ice cream social, so Grayson created a six-foot ice cream cone out of balloons. Mancino’s was celebrating their 20th anniversary in Lansing, so Grayson created a balloon photo frame—complete with a balloon pizza. And Ooo Wee Chicken and Ribs is still celebrating their grand opening, so Grayson brought them a balloon column to place near their entrance. All of these custom creations were a surprise gift from The Party Chasers.

“She just went the extra mile,” said Eidam.

Trustee Zeldenrust had attended the Fourth of July festivities at Lan-Oak Park, and he appreciated that Ooo Wee Chicken and Ribs had a booth there, amid the overwhelming busy-ness of being a new business in town. “It was nice to have local vendors sharing food out there,” said Zeldenrust.

The Party Chasers is located at 3432 Ridge Road in Lansing (where the shoe repair shop used to be). Call 708-251-5212 for more information.

Ooo Wee Chicken and Ribs is located at 18155 Roy Street (facing the post office). Call 708-418-6670 for more information.
