LANSING, Ill. (June 20, 2018) – At the June 19 Village Board meeting, Seargeant Gabriel Barajas was recognized for his 28 years of service as a Lansing police officer. He had retired from the department at the end of May, but he came back to the LPD courtroom to accept the thanks expressed by Chief Murrin and to receive a plaque honoring his “commitment, dedication, and loyalty to the Department.”
Barajas served Lansing most recently as the Village Preparedness Coordinator, working with local businesses, schools, churches, and surrounding communities to increase awareness and safety.
