CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 22, 2018) – Bloom Township works with AARP and Secretary of State Jessie White to provide classes for drivers—particularly senior drivers—who might be preparing for license renewal tests.
June 5
On Tuesday, June 5, Bloom Township will host “Rules of the Road Review” in cooperation with the Secretary of State. The class combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam. Pre-registration is required, so interested Lansing residents should contact the Bloom Township Senior Department for more information or to enroll: 708-754-9400, x7270.
June 19 and 20
The AARP Smart Driver course is geared toward older drivers, but it can be taken by licensed drivers of any age. The next course is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, June 19 and 20. The instruction covers defensive driving techniques and adaptations that can be made for people experiencing vision changes, hearing loss, and slowed reaction times that are commonly associated with aging. The Smart Driver course costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Pre-registration is required through the Bloom Township Senior Department: 708-754-9400, x7270.
Bloom Township is located at 425 South Halsted in Chicago Heights.
