Illinois Reading Council provides $850 to support summer reading program
information provided by TF South
LANSING, Ill. (May 7, 2018) – Thanks to an $850 Literacy Support Grant from the Illinois Reading Council, TF South is able to provide over 60 students with a personal copy of this year’s summer reading book.
All students are required to read a book from a pre-selected list during their summer break. Typically, students can get the book of their choice from any public library or purchase it on their own. Thanks to the grant, a number of randomly chosen students were able to select the title they were most interested in, and they will receive a personal copy of that book before summer break begins. The recipients will be allowed to keep the books.
The summer reading list consists of 15 titles based on the annual Read for a Lifetime program list from the Illinois State Library.
