Civil Air Patrol cadets participate in disaster drill

HAMMOND, Ind. (December 19, 2017 – Cadets from Lansing’s Thunder Composite Squadron 317 of the Civil Air Patrol recently participated in a District 1 Hospital Emergency Planning Committee (HEPC) Drill with the Indiana District 1 Homeland Security Task Force. The disaster drill took place in Hammond with parts of the Hammond Federal Building and Franciscan Health Hammond in use.

The District 1 HEPC conducted the full-scale “Sky High” exercise with Civil Air Patrol cadets from squadrons in both Indiana and Illinois playing the parts of disaster victims.

The Thunder Composite Squadron 317 meets each Wednesday evening at Heritage Middle School in Lansing.
