LANSING, Ill. (October 17, 2017) – At the Village Board meeting, as an item of New Business, Lansing Police Chief Dennis Murrin reported that the Police Department has designated an area near the public parking lot to be a “Meetup Spot” for internet purchasers.

Internet consumers can use the area to finalize purchases that have been made online, such as transactions on eBay or Craigslist. People do not need to enter the police station or notify the police in any way before making arrangements to meet there. The area is under 24-hour video surveillance, as indicated by the sign.

The Meetup Spot is available for Lansing residents as well as nonresidents.
