HARVEY, Ill. In response to violence in communities across the country, Thornton Township is joining the peace movement.

The event will be held at Ascension St. Susanna Catholic Church (15234 Myrtle Ave in Harvey) from 10:00am–2:00pm. Food and live entertainment will help bring people together.

Representatives from District 205 say, “Our third Annual March for Peace will bring everyone together to achieve one goal: Peace. It will provide students, teachers, parents, community leaders, and stakeholders a platform to unite and work towards ending violence in Thornton Township, Chicago, and the surrounding areas.”

Early projections estimate that more than 1,000 marchers will participate in the October 20 event.
