LANSING, Ill. (August 9, 2018) – Lansing’s new dog park—which will be named Paws ‘n Play—is giving the park district an opportunity to make other enhancements to Bock Park. The existing playground area is being removed, and plans are to replace it with a new one in a new location within the park.
“The playground at Bock Park was one of our oldest,” explained Sharon Desjardins, Senior Superintendent of Strategy and Operations. “It was built in 1991, and it was definitely showing its age. In addition, we never really liked the location of the playground as it hugged our maintenance yard rather than providing kids with a little open space for running and playing.”
For maximum efficiency, the park district had the old playground removed by the contractors who were on site installing the dog park. Plans are to install the new playground next year, on the opposite side of the Bock Park shelter.
I’m really enjoying the paper, Mel, thanks for all the hard work. Another suggestion, there’s some work going on at the library. I would love to hear about it.
