Bloom Township offers utility assistance

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (March 22, 2018) – Beginning April 10, 2018, Lansing residents who live in Bloom Township can apply for financial assistance with utilities. Assistance is available until applications are exhausted.

Applicants must come in to Bloom Township headquarters, 425 South Halsted Street in Chicago Heights, Illinois. The following documents are required:

  • Driver’s license or state ID
  • Utility bill (water, electric, or gas)
  • Proof of all household income
  • Social Security cards for all household members
  • Lease or mortgage statement

Other requirements

To be considered eligible for assistance, an applicant’s driver’s license, state ID, and utility bills must have the same address. No bills over $500 will be eligible. And bills cannot be disconnected or over 30 days.

For qualified applicants, assistance is granted every 18 months.
