LANSING, Ill. (March 10, 2018) – On February 23, Oak Glen third-, fourth-, and fifth-graders participated in Hoops for Heart, the American Heart Association fundraiser. The programs helps students understand that heart-healthy habits—including physical activity—can be fun, and it engages them in raising funds to support cardiovascular research and education, which helps save lives across the country.

Three basketball players from South Suburban College attended the event—freshman Antonio Reed from Memphis, Tennessee; sophomore Dom Jacovic from Croatia; and sophomore Lawrence Lemon from Joliet, Illinois. Head Coach John Pigatti also attended. The 42 kids who participated raised a total of $547.00 for the American Heart Association.

Oak Glen Elementary School is located at 2101 182nd Street in Lansing.
