LANSING, Ill. (December 13, 2017) – After nearly 30 years, the Subway® Restaurant located in the Landings Shopping Center is relocating across the street to 17050 Torrence Avenue and taking on the “Fresh Forward” design that the Subway® chain introduced in July. The new Fresh Forward Subway® plans to open before the end of 2017.

Ceremony scheduled

The eatery will host a Grand Opening Event Weekend on January 19, 20, and 21, beginning with a 12-foot sandwich-cutting ceremony at 10:00am on Friday, January 19. Lansing Village Board members and Chamber of Commerce members are invited. Buy-One-Get-One-Free deals will be available during the entire weekend for all customers. No coupons are necessary.

New design

The Grand Opening will allow Lansing residents to experience Subway’s new Fresh Forward design, which Subway is rolling out nationwide. “The goal of the new look,” said Krista McSwiggan, “is to offer our Subway® guests an enhanced Subway® experience, delivering bold and playful décor and a flexible comfortable environment for dine-in or on-the-go customers.”

Krista lists other features of the new design, including a digital menu board, a pre-order pick-up area, wi-fi, new ingredients, and a new COKE Flavor Shot soda machine offering over 60 flavor choices.

Local owner

The newly updated Fresh Forward Subway® is owned and operated by Michael McSwiggan, who grew up in Lansing and is an alumnus of TF South from the class of 2000. Michael has been a Subway® franchisee for over 10 years and owns two additional Subway® Restaurants—one in the Lansing Walmart and one in Orland Hills, Illinois.

Michael already has a working relationship with other Lansing businesses and has personally delivered Subway® sandwich platters, box lunches, and giant subs for meetings and special events. “I enjoy working with different businesses on large catering orders to accommodate different budgets and needs,” he said. “We’ve catered to car dealerships, schools, large department stores—all different work environments for all different kinds of occasions.”
