Community Photography: December

December themes:
Shopping Local and Holiday Traditions

Community Photography DecemberLansing photographers, you have two options for participating in our Community Photography feature in the December 6 print issue of The Lansing Journal.

  1. Shopping Local: Will you be doing your Christmas shopping in Lansing on Small Business Saturday (November 25)? Take a photo of yourself at a Lansing business!
  2. Holiday Traditions: We’d like to showcase Lansing’s diversity here, so it would be nice to receive photos from Polish, Mexican, Dutch, German, African-American, Korean, Jewish, and other local ethnicities. Show us your food, your programs, your church services, your family gatherings, your decorations—anything that captures your unique holiday traditions!

We won’t be able to run both these themes in the December issue, so the one that gets the most response, or the earliest response, or the best variety—that’s probably the one we’ll use!

Send your photos to The Lansing Journal. Include:

  • The names of ALL of the people in the photo
  • The location where the photo was taken
  • Information about what is happening in the photo
  • The name of the photographer

The deadline for submissions is NOVEMBER 27, 2017.

You do NOT need to be a professional photographer to participate in our Community Photography series. The Lansing Journal is a community newspaper, and we want to make sure our community is represented in its pages. We are looking for variety, diversity, and creativity. We’ll choose as many as we can fit into a photo spread in our December 6 issue.
