Three busloads of Illiana seniors headed for Washington, D.C. this evening.
LANSING, Ill. (October 17, 2017) – Three busloads of teenagers awaited final instructions this evening, before pulling out into the night for Washington, D.C. They will arrive approximately 9:00am Wednesday, October 18, and will begin touring the Washington Cathedral by 10:00am.

The buses will drive through the night, arriving in Washington in time for a 10:00am tour on Wednesday.

The students’ itinerary for Wednesday includes the World War II, Lincoln, Vietnam, and Korean War Memorials.

On Thursday the students will explore Mount Vernon, Old Town Alexandria, and Arlington National Cemetery. They will have the opportunity to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The tentative schedule for the three-day trip—organized by History teacher Jeff White—has the students booked for 12–15 hours each day, including visits to museums, memorials, and other historic sites. The group will arrive back in Lansing Saturday morning.
